A collaborative project with Aki Hirano of Questa Design, the inventor of the kootsu® skate guard.
The kootsu® skate guard for figure skaters puts the user's safety first while cushioning the blade. The skate guard is installed on the skate blade with minimal effort; no pulling force is required and a child can install these skate guards easily with one hand. Also, due to its wide treaded sole, walking in the kootsu® skate guard is safer. The skate guard has a large cross-sectional area for the sole and heel (like a shoe) which provides a more secure footing for walking. The sole is molded in a high-grip elastomer that has a multi-cell patterned tread to maximize grip on smooth surfaces.
